Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, work-related stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 44% of work-related ill health and 54% of working days lost in 2018/19, with an estimated cost of £5.2 billion to industry, individuals and the government.

However, according to a new WHO survey, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted or halted critical mental health services in 93% of countries worldwide while the demand for mental health is increasing. This survey of 130 countries provides the first global data showing the devastating impact of COVID-19 on access to mental health services

It is probable therefore, that the statistics noted at the start of this summary are going to become even worse in the foreseeable future. In order to look after the mental health of ourselves and our employees, education is paramount. Specifically, by increasing knowledge, reducing stigma and signposting support services we can improve wellbeing, decrease illness and make positive gains to lifestyles and communities. This in turn will decrease working days lost and improve productivity in the workplace.

This one-day bespoke programme will be delivered online using Live Zoom. This method of delivery has been chosen to decrease the transmission risk of COVID-19.
